The 113th Bathurst Agricultural Show will take place from the 30th of March through to the 2nd of April 2023. Last years show was well supported and was a success for both traders and visitors. There is just less than 2 months before kick-off and we are busy making sure this year’s show will be bigger and better. Everything you need to know how to be a vendor, exhibitor or visitor at this years show.
So if you not familiar with what the Bathurst Show is about, read about it here. The first Bathurst Agricultural Show was held in 1850, and they held its centenary year in 2008. Thousands of people from far and wide attend the show to see the best of farming and fun in the Eastern Cape.
Standholders bring the showgrounds to life by marketing their extensive range of products from heavy duty farming equipment to home-made arts and crafts. Maintaining the agricultural side of the show, quality livestock large and small, comprising of a vast selection of cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry compete for prizes and our magnificent trophies. Last years show included a dedicated cannabis hall for cannabis industry traders to showcase their products, services, network and talk cannabis related to the agriculture. Below is a documentary by the Canna Club of the 112th BAS show and is a great example of the high spirits everyone was in during the 3 days of the event.
Over the weekend you will be able to engage with cannabis vendors from “seed-to-sale” and be able to ask questions with knowledgeable cannabis consultants, businesses and social clubs. Seeds, clones, analytics, grow supplies, CBD edibles and even hemp processing equipment will be on show for the weekend. A hemp history and uses display stand will made publically available through out the show. So come read up on hemp uses and the history of the plant.
This is the fourth year for the Best Cannabis Plant floating trophy and the competition seems to be flowering nicely. Enter in a cannabis plant or craft into the 2023 home industries category of cannabis and stand a chance to win some great prizes for first place. All entries need to be in the Cannabis hall and ready to be judged by the Tues 21 March 2023.

What to Expect in 2023.
Open public talks during the weekend will be hosted by Cheeba Digital Tv and you can expect Jeremy Acton ( Leader of the Dagga Party ), Kobus Schoeman ( Owner of Growone.africa ) and the co-owners Trenton and Lindi of Cheeba Cannabis Academy speak about current affairs. There will also be giveaways, joint rolling competitions and a Floating trophy for the best Cannabis Plant in the home industries category.

Kobus Schoeman
Kobus invited us to Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape where he and his wife Daleen are based and where they run their Independent Private Social Club, Die BoomHuis. They come from a non-profit background doing community projects focused on food security and self-sustainability. In the North West they ran a permaculture training farm before pursuing opportunities in the Western Cape where it was quite natural to apply the same models they’d used before, to uplift communities with growing cannabis when decriminalization happened in 2018.
Dr Shiksha Gallow
Dr Shiksha Gallow is a pioneer in the Medical cannabis industry globally as a Cannabis Clinician. She is the Medical Director of Holistic Integrative Healing Institute which is part of the Cannabis Clinics. She is also the Principal Investigator for the first Medical Cannabis Study in South Africa.
Jeremy Acton
Iqela Lentsango: The Dagga Party of South Africa (more commonly known as the Dagga Party) is a South African political party founded in February 2009 by Jeremy Acton, who remains the party’s leader. “Dagga” is a South African colloquial term for cannabis, the legalisation of which forms the core of the party’s platform. The Dagga Party was established to allow voters who support the legalisation of dagga to have representation in elections.
Trenton Birch
Trenton Birch is recognized as one of the pioneers of the South African music industry. He was a radio and TV presenter and producer at the SABC for 5 years. He is the South Africa Director / Founding Member for the international music / education charity Bridges for Music, where he oversaw the build and set up of a ground breaking music and entrepreneurial campus in Langa township in Cape Town. He recently founded Cheeba Africa, a Cannabis health and wellness company that also launched Africa’s first Cannabis Academy. Source
Linda Siboto
Linda Siboto is one of the Co-Founders and Directors at Cheeba Africa, Africa’s first Cannabis education academy with a physical campus in Gauteng and an extensive online Cannabis course offering, ranging from medical Cannabis to growing. At Cheeba Africa Linda is responsible for new business and sales and oversees their media channel Craft Cannabis TV. Source
This years event will have a private adult cannabis area joining the cannabis hall sponsored by GrowOne.Africa. About 4 cannabis local social clubs will be in attendance and offer membership signup, products and services. The cannabis hall will feature live cannabis plants, talks and discussions as well a few fun competitions. There will be both an indoor stand and/or outdoor stand option for the Cannabis Hall. Each stand is 3x3metres and electricity can be supplied. The indoor cannabis section will have security and access control at all points to ensure safety.
Prices and Application
Both indoor and outdoor stands are 3 x 3m and are R1955.00 or R1725.00 respectively. Electricity can be provided on request and the indoor hall is locked and secure at night.
